'Dixie Queen'

The largest Paddle Steamer on the River Thames, London

INTRODUCTION

Welcome aboard the 'Dixie Queen'. A stunning $10 million conversion into a spectacular 3-tier Mississippi Paddle Steamer. Until only recently she was Stockholm's favourite cruising Night Club. Now she will be Britain's largest conference, party and event boat, based right by Tower Bridge!

Cruising from the Pool of London, through Greenwich to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge and back, she sets new standards for entertainment afloat. The luxurious lower dining saloon holds up to 160 guests for silver service or buffet. On the upper deck over 2500 sq. ft. of dining space will take a maximum of 348 for lunch or dinner and up to 288 for buffets.

There is a full specification Night Club Discotheque with lighting and sound systems to match. An extensive dance floor. Over 300 may be accommodated for theatre-style presentations. Computer controlled conference facilities. Over 500 sq. ft. of raised staging.

Fully air-conditioned for the summer months and central heating throughout for the winter. Truly a vessel for all seasons. Extensive kitchens with a full brigade of chefs will prepare menus from a simple Finger Buffet to elaborate, themed 5-course Feasts.

And all backed by the reputation for cruising excellence from the team at Thames Luxury Charters. Be one of the first to party aboard what will be London's most talked about vessel, from late January 2000 onwards.

LOWER DECK

The Lower Dining Room.
The warmth of natural woods, classic upholstery and seating, rich monogrammed carpeting, mirrored side panelling and a light and airy interior.

For Reception drinks there is a spacious entrance area by one of the three Bars on board. Ample room for conversation, both standing or seated. Try one of a range of Cocktails created by our specialist bar staff.

A flexible configuration with tables for 4, 6, 8 and 10 all possible. In the main Restaurant a total of 101 diners may be seated and, by using the Reception area, it is possible to seat a maximum of 161 guests.

All the catering on board is produced by our resident brigade of chefs. Our Executive Chef and Catering Director will be pleased to meet with you and discuss any particular requirement. Shortly to follow this interim colour brochure will be a full range of our most popular menus selected from the pages of the catering options for our other two vessels.

Linen napkins, linen tablecloths, quality tableware all will ensure that the presentation is up to the high standards that we have set on the Thames.

TO THE TOP DECK

Climbing up the spiral staircase from the Entrance and Lower Dining Saloon, past the chandelier to the Top Deck.

An extensive Bar serving a wide range of drinks. Perhaps uniformed staff offering a welcoming cocktail or glass of punch. Then through to the capacious Top Deck.

A totally flexible space covering over 2000 sq. ft. of dining, dancing, conference or exhibition area. With a ceiling height of 10 ft. Stylish window seats, fluted columns, attractive furnishings.

Uniquely for a vessel on the Thames we can offer round tables for Buffets seating up to 236, for Silver Service either 236, or up to 286 by using the raised stage facility. Traditional oblong tables increase the capacity to 288 for Buffets and, again by utilising the stage area, up to 348 guests for Silver Service.

For parties there is a full Night club sound and lighting system above a sizeable dance floor. After all she was the hottest night spot in Stockholm for over a decade. Our top London DJ controls the action from his raised console opposite the stage.

At the far end of the deck there is over 500 sq. ft. of raised curtained staging. With lighting and sound mixing decks there exists the ability to sustain substantial theatrical and conference productions in clear view of everyone on this level.

OUTSIDE DECKS

The 'Dixie Queen' has over 2000 sq. ft. of outside space.

Bask in the sunshine while sipping a cocktail or take in the many illuminated attractions of the night skyline of London.

Three separate outside decks offer the perfect viewing platform for the London Marathon, the Dome, and the many firework displays during the year and other London outdoor events.

The largest open space offered by any Thames vessel.

Clay Pigeon Shooting. Currently, the 'Elizabethan' is the only vessel on which we are able to offer clients this facility. The 'Dixie Queen' will support up to 6 firing stations at any one time. Ideal after-conference entertainment for up to 150 delegates.

As you would expect, the largest function boat on the Thames has the most outside space. Sufficient to allow 400 people to be outside at any one time.
